Various behaviour and early development programs for individuals and families in White Rock, Surrey, Delta, Langley, Prince George, and Parksvillle.
The following services are offered:
- Behaviour Analysis and Consultation Services (BAC) program: Provides families of children with autism, in rural and remote communities, access to RASP-qualified professionals to assess, develop intervention plans and oversee behaviour intervention. The BAC program also provides in-home consultation to address challenging behaviours. The BAC program provides a multi-tiered behaviour support mode, in rural and remote communities, that allows staff to tailor services around each family’s unique needs. This program receives funding from the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Services can be provided throughout Northern British Columbia, including Haida Gwaii and rural and remote communities.
- Positive Behaviour Support Services: Provides in-home behaviour consultation services to families throughout the Lower Mainland. The consultant and the family work together (for approx. 1 year) one-to-one to create and implement individualized strategies to address concerns and teach new skills. Program is funded by MCFD. Families are referred through MCFD.
- FASD Key Worker Program: Provides support to families of children and youth under the age 19 with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) or children who are at risk for FASD. This program is offered for South Surrey/White Rock area.This program receives funding from the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
- B.A.S.I.C. program: Provides evidence-based behaviour intervention, analysis and consultation services based on the principles of applied behaviour analysis and positive behaviour support. Services are primarily provided to individuals with autism but are open to anyone else requiring these support with challenging behaviour or skill deficits. Services are provided primarily in the Prince George area.
- Behavioural Counselling Services: Provides an individualized and holistic model of support. Services are primarily provided to Neurodivergent children and youth but are open to anyone else requiring support with challenging behaviour or other needs (Anxiety, Social Skills, Self-Regulation, Toileting, Sleep, Etc). Services are provided primarily on Vancouver Island in Parksville and the surrounding areas.
- Behaviour Intervention Mental Health: Provides behavioural intervention for Children and Youth with Mental Health Issues (CYMH) and Children and Youth with Special Needs (CYSN) in Fort St. John and Fort Nelson.
- Child Development Services (CDS): An integrated, multi-disciplinary team that provides developmental services and support to the children and families of Oceanside. CDS provides family-centered, free services to children under five years of age who may be experiencing or are at risk for developmental delays.
- Child and Youth with Special Needs (CYSN) program: Provides peer-based social opportunities for children and youth with special needs in the Oceanside area. Groups focus on life-skills, social interactions as well as client needs and interests. In addition to groups, CYSN services offer one-on-one sessions with youth along with support for parents of children with special needs. All referrals to this program are provided by CYSN Services at MCFD.
