FASD Key Worker Program

Provided by Sources BC

Provides support to families of children and youth with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
The FASD Key Worker program provides in-home parent support to families who have a child with FASD or suspect a child has FASD or another complex developmental or behavioural condition. The FASD key worker provides services to families with children from birth to 18 years of age working directly with parents and caregivers to support skill building, provide parent support, community education and assistance with the assessment process.

Sources provides an FASD Key Worker for the South Surrey/White Rock, North Peace (Fort St. John and Fort Nelson) and Vancouver Island (Parksville) areas which is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). FASD Key Worker can travel to the family home and liaise with schools as well as other supports within the community. The program uses the positive behaviour support model to work with families to address challenges, access resources, teach skills and ensure families have an ongoing network of support.
