Information and Support Services for Individuals with Down Syndrome

Provides support for families of persons with Down syndrome as well as therapies to aid in the cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, social and emotional development of people with Down syndrome.
The Fraser Valley Down Syndrome Society (FVDSS) is a parent-run support group based in Abbotsford B.C. for families of persons with Down syndrome in the Langley to Hope areas (including Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge). They offer support and resources for parents and caregivers, as well as therapies and programs to aid in the cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, social and emotional development of people with Down syndrome.

In the New Parent Visiting program welcomes new families who are expecting or have just welcomed a child with Down syndrome into their lives. Expectant and new parents, or those who know someone who is, are welcome to meet with trained visitors who provide guidance, advice, and support. Programs offered include:
  • Adult Social Nights
  • Family Social Events
  • Music Therapy
  • Zumba
